The HIP Alliance (a public outreach initiative by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore) has got something creative in store for you - The Originals Get Reel Contest! 

The Originals Get Reel Contest is an anti-piracy trailer competition which seeks to suss out quality 30-second video clips that best portray the theme "Support Originality, Reject Piracy".

The winning trailer will be aired in cinemas islandwide.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Competition (Deadline=31 March 2011)

Dear students

A competition that requires you to form a team of four to six members  and submit and present a proposal to implement an integrated CSR strategy for the specified SME while focusing on the identified CSR aspect(s).

Each participating team is required to register by 31 March 2011, 3pm via Email: kimmj@csrsingapore.org

CSR concerns may include but are not limited to issues pertaining to organisational governance, human rights, labour practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues and community involvement and development.  The proposal must clearly identify goals and targets and how they may be achieved and measured

What is CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is generally used to describe business’s efforts to achieve sustainable outcomes by committing to good business practices and standards in the aspects ofbusiness, social and the environment for all stakeholders including business, employees, unions, environment and the community at large.

Registration – Closing date 31 March 2011
Phase 1: Compulsory Competition Briefing and CSR Workshop 6 April 2011
Phase 2: Submission deadline of Pre-selection Proposal 1 June 2011
Phase 3: Final Judging (for finalist teams only)
a) Practical Attachment: 2nd/3rd week June 2011
b) Submission deadline of Final Proposal and Presentation:21 July 2011
c) Team presentation to judges: 1st week August 2011
 Prize Presentation 5 September 2011

DBIT Students win 3rd place in INNOVATEIT 2010 competition!

Our DBIT students have clinched the 3rd place in winning the “InnovateIT 2010” competition!

Part of the National Infocomm Competition umbrella, InnovateIT 2010 is a business IT competition organised by the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University. It aims to promote creativity and mental dexterity among students by challenging them to design, research and promote their IT-enabled solution to a real-world business problem. It is opened to all tertiary and Pre-U students.

It was a very tough competition, but the hard work of the students has paid off after all!Several DMIT Staff also rendered their advice and expertise to the team during the preparation stage. They are Kim Ying, Fong Sow, Teck June and Clarence. 

Congratulations to the student team and staff for the great achievement that has done SP and DMIT proud.

Project Title: “Our Idea Is Your Reality!”
Mentor: Justin Monreal - a very dedicated and capable mentor
Team Members: Lim Zui Young Lim Zi Ming Mohammad Akbar Pahlevi
Project Desc.: A voice-enabled navigation wristlet device that helps the Universal Studios (Singapore) visitors to navigate within the premises with the planned itinerary.

The LiveOnFilm competition organised by MOH's deadline is extended to 16 Aug 2010.

Requirements: Form a team of 2-5, aged 15-25 years old.

Write a short film story proposal (script + proposed budget).

5 teams with shortlisted proposals to pitch your story in Aug.

Will be given up to $3000 to film a 5 min-15 min production in 2 months time.
